Water Play: Fostering a Respect for Water

Summer Splash–Camp Fitness…Mind & Body
A summer designed around fun, fitness and personal growth. We stimulate the mind and body while building tools for life with each and every child. Each week explores around some age appropriate concepts that foster evolution in the areas of academics, social/emotional and cognitive growth. In addition, our Camp Fitness program is exciting and down right FUN!

July 1st- 5th: Spirit Week
This is a week to not only have a great time, but to embrace the opportunity to grow emotionally and cognitively. We will incorporate through verbal instruction and concrete activities, a healthy way to think and live.

July 8th-12th: Gardening with a twist: Clean Healthy Living
The positive effects of gardening will ripple through a child’s entire life. A child’s natural curiosity often turns an activity like painting a seed into a learning experience filled with plenty of “why” and “how” questions.

July 15th-19th: Obstacle Courses: A Metaphor for Life
We can increase confidence through the challenge and reward of an obstacle course, as children are faced with choices to go on or turn back. Perseverance, fortitude, and self-worth are valuable life lessons attained through this adventure.

July 22nd-26th: Obstacle Courses continued:
A Challenge of the Mind and Body for the Purpose of Good Health
We can build on sequencing, strengthening, and coordination incorporating various activities to provide multiple sensory input.

July 29th-August 2nd: Water Play: Fostering a Respect for Water
One sure way to get children active and engaged is to engage friends with games that involve water. They cool everyone down on a hot day and provide hours of entertainment and exploration.

August 5th-9th: Retro Movement: Good Old Fashioned Fun and Entertainment
Revisit a time when fun and movement were created simply. Bring back some elements of a simpler, slower-paced time. We treat children to a blast from the past with some traditional values. Children explore around being resourceful and creating within their means, building games and activities by incorporating equipment and materials readily available.

August 12th-16th: Imagination Creation: Self-Expression Through Mind and Body
Imagination: the ability to dream, create, improvise, and in the process, entertain oneself anywhere and anytime. Imagination integrates a child’s feelings and dreams and actions. The ability to generate alternatives allows children to become problem solvers.

August 19th-23rd: Spirit week
Take this week to not only have a great time, but embrace this opportunity to grow emotionally and cognitively. Incorporate through verbal instruction and concrete activities, a healthy way to think, live, and express.
